Major Characters | | | |
The primary heroes, villains, and other major characters, past and present, on the Shadowland, in roughly chronological order: - Andrella Valence: The most powerful knight in the land, descendant of the mighty warriors of the world of Valencia. Her enemies fear her flawless sword skills and her allies value her talented leadership.
- Kianne Cassidy: An immortal warrior with a treasured bow who has traveled the multiverse. On another world she was once an elementalist. She became the Avatar on different shard of Britannia.
- Lord British: The benevolent king of Britannia. He gives aid to those who follow the Virtues. Lord British is both kind and powerful, though he does not display his power frequently.
- Lord Blackthorn: This man holds a high position in Lord British's court but has designs on ruling from the throne himself. He will ally with nearly anyone who can help him to achieve his goal. Some say Blackthorn was corrupted by the Shadowlords that emerged from the shards of the Gem of Immortality.
- Dupré: A paladin and one of the Avatar's longtime companions. This Dupré is actually not the one native to the Shadowland (who was killed), but is rather from Kianne's universe.
- Nystul: Lord British's very talented but senile mage. He has much knowledge and skill in the arcane and in alchemy, but at times he seems as though he is not playing with a full deck.
- Lord Soth: An ancient adversary of Andrella, Connor, and Kianne from their days in the guild the Lords of Krynn. Soth is a massively powerful undead necromancer from the world of Krynn.
- Connor Mcleod: The immortal leader of the guild known as the Royal Black Watch (RBW), and formerly of the Lords of Krynn. RBW was once a strong force in the Shadowland.
- Sygil Oakenbow: A wandering ranger who is also a member of RBW. Despite being a ranger, he feels Justice calls to him most deeply. He, also, was an Avatar on another shard of Britannia.
- Navien Trailwind: A divided man who trains in the powers of necromancy but is not himself evil. This apparent paradox may explain his seemingly conflicting actions.
- The Guardian: A sinister and powerful daemon-like creature with his sights set on Britannia. He calls himself “The Guardian” as he attempts to cause people to worship him as a deliverer, when in fact he is a conqueror. He can only travel between worlds using a portal known as the Black Gate. The Guardian's current home world is called Pagan.
- Mondain: A wizard who slew his own father to gain the Gem of Immortality. His gem was shattered by an Avatar but Mondain chased its pieces to the Shadowland.
- The Time Lord: An immortal enigma of a being. When Kianne first met him, he was under the guise of a seer named Hawkwind, and the Time Lord occasionally still uses this name. His beginnings are unknown. He works behind the scenes to shape history as needed.
- Batlin: On another shard of Britannia, this man was a follower of the Guardian. On the Shadowland, he is decidedly different...
- Kilmas: Son of Xavier, Andrella's uncle. Xavier allied with Mondain and conquered the original Valence Knights. It is rumored that Kilmas, his son, is a star mage.
- Aelias: A knight from Valence, a paladin by his own claim, though he knows nothing of Britannia and its Virtue system. He was given a powerful blade of light by the Time Lord and possesses the power of healing.
- Rakiah: A ninja from another world. Just who is Rakiah? No one seems to know, but Andrella apparently sent her to the Shadowland.
